Farmers’ Welfare & Children’s Education
The Challenge
Repeated droughts, failed bore-wells, and crushing debt pushed thousands of small farmers into suicide—leaving behind widows and children burdened with loans and no future. Education dropouts and child labor became inevitable.
AMG’s Intervention
AMG responded with speed, scale, and structure—focusing on education as the most powerful long-term protection for affected children.
What We Did
- Identified 547 suicide-affected families across 21 districts using official government records
- Supported 1,600 children from LKG to professional degrees
- Deposited monthly education support directly into bank accounts
- Paid school and college fees annually
- Distributed books, uniforms, bags, and study materials
- Conducted annual gatherings, counseling visits, and career guidance programs
- Covered travel costs to reduce family burden
Impact
- Sharp reduction in school dropouts and child labor
- Children progressed into engineering, nursing, pharmacy, MBA, and MCA programs
- Mothers regained hope and economic stability
Outcome
Children of suicide farmers reclaimed their future—education replaced despair.
